Turning Dreams into Reality...

Hi! I'm Melanie. Here's the basics: I am 27 years old, a mom to 3 pups

(Chester, Bella, and Bosco), and live in Florida with my husband.

 

And here's my story:

I understand what it's like to be a person who just needs to change their life. 

I am from Kansas City... and let me tell you, it was HARD for me to get

excited about fitness when it was freezing cold half of the year

(or at least that was the excuse that I kept telling myself).

Really, I was just lazy.

People don't actually gain weight because it gets cold outside.

 

I can't really say that I ever lived an active lifestyle.

When I was younger I participated in dance, figure skating, karate..

pretty much anything and everything (you would never know

with how uncoordinated and unathletic I am, by the way). 

Once I hit my teen years, I stopped everything..

I was too worried about hanging out with my friends to care about my health.

I stayed 'skinny'.. I was wearing a size 4 but was NEVER IN SHAPE.

I always had a little bit of a tummy,

no one ever confused my thighs for being slim,

and I once had a friend tell me that my arms looked 'jiggly' and

I should go to the gym with her to work on that.

I've always been curvy, which I love.. or LOVED..

until my excuse was 'curvy' and I was struggling to get into a size 13.

 

One day I woke up, and I had gained A LOT of weight. How did this happen?

 

 

 

Well... I got in a relationship, and decided that it no longer mattered (which i'm sure my husband just loved). My jeans got tighter and tighter, and I just kept buying bigger sizes. The weight was packing on and I was very unhappy. I've cried in more dressing rooms than I can even count.

 

I never had the motivation, time, or enough dedication (aka Again... TONS of Excuses) to my health to get up and actually go workout. I paid for TWO YEARS of gym memberships and maybe went 10 times total. I attempted so many fad diets, pills, wraps ect. but of course they never helped... Sure, I lost a few lbs here and there, but would gain it all back.... it wasn't helping to FIX the PROBLEM. Geoff (my husband) and I tried to get healthy together, but we also were terrible influences on eachother. One of us ALWAYS wanted cheesecake, cupcakes, or fast food, and we convinced ourselves that it was okay "just this one time". And that "one time" always turned into a few times per week, at least. 

 

It finally got to a point where I just couldn't do it anymore! 

I was DONE with the EXCUSES and I NEEDED to make a change! 

 

At this point I was at the heaviest that I had ever been (174 lbs), and I was extremely unhappy that I was gaining weight rapidly - it was not fun. I HAD to get in shape... but I needed the full package - and luckily for me, that is exactly what Beachbody offered. It made it so easy for me to make the decision to finally change.

 

The first step for me was nutrition, and it was the hardest. But changing my thoughts on food changed my whole perspective on health and fitness. I realized how wrong I always was about all of my misconceptions with healthy eating. I CAN still have food that I like, It's NOT that expensive! It's crazy how much I actually SAVE now that I am on a set meal plan, eating great food that I enjoy and that is GOOD for me. I started out drinking Shakeology, and I noticed a huge change in my energy and the way I felt everyday. I normally would sit around drinking beer and eating crap food in between taking naps, but with adding Shakeology to my diet, I started feeling awake and energized for the first time in so long..  with all of the nutrition it provided, working out didn't seem so impossible anymore. It's so crazy how adding just one shake (but one that is all-natural with 70 superfoods- all of the dense superfood nutrition really DOES make a difference!) made me feel so much different and made me want to eat clean. My goal is to empower people to start living the life that they truly want - but just aren't sure how to get there. I want to help people to reach their goals and finally take control of their life. I believe in reaching goals the right way, with hard work (although that doesn't mean we still can't enjoy life!). 

 

I love to help people who have been trying to lose weight but just can't seem to commit, or don't know where to start. I help them to stop the yo-yo dieting, stop the 'easy way out' weight loss 'solutions', stop trying so hard to learn how to do the next 'fad' diet and just focus on living a healthy life. I teach people how to make clean eating and exercising a part of their life. I teach people how to balance normal life with weight loss, muscle gain, or just becoming healthier overall. The 'easy way out' isn't going to change your health, or even your body for the long-term. My system will. And let's face it... we all want to look amazing in our bikinis and feel confident in that little black dress, but shouldn't we also want to he HEALTHY? 

 

Instead of spending years figuring out how to stop losing and gaining the same 10-20-30-40 ect pounds, My mission is to help others to put clean and healthy food into their bodies while still enjoying the occasional glass of wine, pizza or desert, and learning how to incorporate exercise in a way that doesn't feel daunting, making health and fitness easier and more fun. I was my own worst enemy for many years... simply because I just don't like to eat chicken and lettuce all day and I don't have time for 90 minutes of cardio in the morning with an evening weight training session every day. My customers and team make up a tribe of people who are inspired to get healthy in a simple and fun way that is completely personalized to them, their wants/needs/likes/dislikes, fueled by positive motivation and accountability (because support is key!).

I also help people who are stuck in a dead-end job, or just want to have flexibility with their time and income while working from home. As a Health, Happiness, and Business Coach I help people in all areas of their life - to become healthier, lighter and more energized, and to make an incredible income by starting a rewarding career as a Coach on my team and helping others with their goals like I do. And in turn, becoming healthier, more fit, and having more income, time and freedom, helps in so many other areas of our lives, making us happier overall!
