What Exactly does a Coach do?
Well, That is up to you! Your to-do list will reflect your goals and what you are wanting to achieve as a Coach. Someone who is just looking to make an extra $200 per week working 5 hours per week will have different goals than someone who is looking to work as a Coach full-time and make $2,500+ per week. I will help you set goals and a personal to-do list for what YOU want, but, here is a breakdown on the basics of what a Coach does.
"As Coaches, we are holding people accountable for their health objections" - Carl Diakeler
1 - Work from home, on your own time, mostly on social media - as well as email, phone, and optionally, in person for those people who want to teach weekly group classes or coach clients one-on-one in person.
2 - HELP People! As a Coach, it's your job to help people to live healthy and happy lives. You first want to understand their personal goals so that you know how you can best help them. What are their goals? Why is now the right time for them to work towards their goals? What have they tried in the past.. why did it or didn't it work for them? How much time do they have to commit? How would they describe their current diet and do they need help with nutrition? What do they feel that they best need to succeed? These are just a few questions that will help you to best understand how you can best help your clients. You will receive conversation guides that you can use (and personalize to fit your own personality) if you need help connecting with people at first!
3 - When you better understand their goals, You will recommend the best Beachbody fitness programs, supplements, or Challenge Packs for their goals. We are able to offer clients the full package of an in-home fitness program, plus nutrition- meal plans and dense superfood nutrition with Shakeology, plus support (from you as their coach), plus rewards... cash prizes just for getting healthy and fit. Let's face it, not everyone wants to work out in a gym- maybe they feel intimidated, they don't have time to drive back and forth, don't have a babysitter, ect - and some people like both! I have some clients that go to the gym AND still love to do P90X or Insanity, but all of your clients will work out from home with a Beachbody fitness program.
4 - Now here comes the really fun (and MOST IMPORTANT) part!! Once they have their program - it's your job to keep them on track. You will be their COACH - acting as an accountability partner to support & motivate them throughout their program. You can do this through social media, phone, email, or even in person.
I personally prefer to run Challenge Groups through private Facebook groups where I will post daily and my clients will check in daily to keep them on track. This way they can easily ask questions, I can schedule out the daily posts on hootsuite so that if I take a day off I won't accidentally skip a day, and I can have multiple participants in each group- which is helpful for clients to have people they can relate to in the group with them. I then can just check into the group when i'm on Facebook, answer questions, congratulate people, help, share recipe ideas, ect. You want to be that positive force that helps people to not lose heart and keep going, no matter what!
Here is an example of what a Challenge Group looks like. These were taken from my first Beachbody on Demand Challenge right after the online streaming of fitness programs was released. It was a 30 day starter group.
***Please excuse the crazy, not straight black lines &boxes, it was the easiest way I could show an example w/o posting my clients info all over the place! :)
Through Facebook, I run several different types of Challenges:
-
60/90 Day Challenges for people who order Challenge Packs (a Challenge Pack is the full package. It comes with the fitness program of their choice + Shakeology - our all-natural superfood health shake + meal plan + support + chance to win cash prizes for Before & After pics). Check out my Healthy: Fitness Coaching tab to get MY description of a Challenge Group).
-
7 day Clean Eating Challenges for people who are looking for a kickstart to their health and fitness but aren't ready to fully commit to the 60/90 days, or maybe just want to try Shakeology before they buy a full months worth.
-
Beachbody on Demand Challenges for people who just want to use the online streaming.
-
FREE 30 day Flatbelly Challenges for people who are unsure about committing but I still want to help & build a relationship. After the 30 day free challenge, they usually feel more comfortable moving on to the full 60/90 day Challenge with me.
You can - but don't have to - run all of these types of Challenges, these are just what I have found work best for me with the different types of people/clients.
You can also run Fit Clubs (a weekly live class) for people to try the programs and workout with you in person, if you like the face-to-face interaction. Click here to learn more about Fit Clubs!
5 - Inspire people!
Now, you may ask, HOW do you find these people for your Challenges? How do you get clients?
You will be able to have clients given to you from the company once you are qualified to do so - we bring in hundreds of thousands of clients per week through our extremely successful infomercials + website sign ups (more info on the FAQ page).
You can also find additional clients through ANY (or all) of the above:
-
Social media and other forms of online advertising (You will be trained in social media, including tips on how to create a brand for yourself and find/connect with like-minded people).
-
Fit Clubs (if you want to hold live classes).
-
Even talking to people in person, asking clients for referrals, ect.
Feel free to get creative! Let's just be honest, the more clients you have and the more lives you change, the faster your business (and paycheck) will grow.
Do you have a blog or website? As a Coach, you will be given company websites for your customers to order through. But you can also add your products and services to your OWN blog or website!
I will also teach you how to build a brand for yourself online, through social media. You can find a HUGE client base either through your main Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter page or by creating and running a 'like' or 'group' page to connect with people so that you can help them. BUT I don't mean posting "Buy P90X Now!" all the time and spamming your friends!! As a Coach, we share, NOT SELL. If you are a personal trainer, you are going to offer your services to people and tell them how you can help them without pushing the cost of the gym membership or hourly fee first, right? This is no different. It's just an alternative fitness solution.
We want to inspire people to feel ready to start their journey. We can do this by creating posts to our social media friends and followers that add VALUE - motivation, tips, advice, recipes, funny and engaging posts, pictures, ect. Then telling people how you can help them through event invites, personal messages, or occasional posts about your upcoming Challenge Group / team call.
Now, you also don't even HAVE to use social media, remember that this is YOUR biz and it's up to you how you run it... but it is a great way to reach people.
6 - You can also build a team of Coaches, and help people to achieve their financial goals as well as fitness goals. This is how Coaches make residual income from their whole team and become six and seven figure earners (Our 1.6 million earner wasn't selling 900 Challenge Packs every week). This is completely optional, but for me, I LOVE helping people in EVERY aspect of their lives - getting healthy and fit - and out of debt, making extra $$, or leaving their full-time jobs to work from home for themselves. I had HUGE dreams that I could not achieve through the jobs that I was previously working - this company has changed my life in so many ways so I, personally, LOVE to pay it forward and love to help others reach their financial goals. It's so rewarding for me to talk to a client who hit their 20lb weight loss mark and then right after talk to a Coach on my team who just paid off their car, left their full-time job to be at home full-time with their kids, or whatever else their goal was. I love love love it!!!
7 - BE A PRODUCT OF THE PRODUCT! It's not easy to ask people to do something that you aren't willing to do yourself. Whether you love to workout or are looking for a way to get on track with your own health and fitness goals, Part of your job will be to BE AN INSPIRATION and a LEADER. That means working out, and if you have goals, REACHING THEM! Becoming a Coach is a great way for people who love fitness to expand their client base nationwide or just get paid for something they love - but also for people who need motivation to get in shape to learn how to do so and completely change their life - with fitness & finances. You can build a business while you get in shape. But either way, living the "Beachbody lifestyle", using a fitness program, drinking Shakeology, ect, will make it SO much easier for you to become a successful Coach. Just talking about your own experiences with the products will attract attention and questions. I personally drink Shakeology daily and have done Insanity, 21 Day Fix, Les Mills Combat, and P90X. You don't have to try every program.... but having a story to share WILL help you.
8 - PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. Guess what? Helping people, changing lives, inspiring people to become the best versions of themselves... all awesome, right? Of course! But, the BEST way for you to help people to be the best that they can be, is by becoming the best version of YOURSELF. That means constantly learning, trying new tactics, working on personal development and continued training. I have a long list of my favorite personal development courses and books that I'd love to share with you! Do you HAVE to do this? Trust me, working on yourself WILL help you to build the incredible business that you're looking for, so doing PD is very strongly suggested!
