These are oh so good! Spicy, juicy, and just perfection.
Normally I'm kind of scared of turkey burgers because let's be honest, they can lack flavor and be super boring.
When I told Geoff last night that we were having these for dinner, I could tell he was slightly disappointed, but even he said
they had great flavor and he would like to add them to our meal plan again (win!).
Here's what you'll need:
10 oz Extra-Lean ground turkey
1 packet extra spicy guacamole seasoning (or regular if you don't like spicy as much)
2 slices red onion, diced
1 small fresh jalapeno, diced
Salsa
1 Avocado
Cheese (optional - I used Cheddar because that's what we had)
Whole-wheat Arnold Sandwich Thins
Make your burgers:
Put your ground turkey into a large bowl.
Add 3/4 of the guacamole seasoning and diced onion and jalapeno.
Mix well, then form into balls, then put on a plate and flatten into a patty
(we made 2 1/2 lb. but you could easily also make 4 1/4 lb.)
We used the George Foreman to make these - grilling for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through and opening the grill
and adding cheese for the last 3 minutes to melt.
You could also make them in the oven: bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees, turning once.
If you got an avocado, prepare it by mashing and adding the remainder of your guacamole seasoning.
Once cooked, assemble:
Bottom sandwich thin, Avocado, Burger, Salsa, top sandwich thin.
Enjoy!
